When I talk about "thumbnails" in my work, I actually mean two different things. First, there are the loose storyboard thumbnails—small, quick sketches that get the idea across without a ton of detail. These are great for fast-paced projects, and I can usually knock out about 35 of them in a day. Then there are my thumbnail sketches for planning—which are even looser. These are just little scribbles I make for myself while going over a job with a client. They help me keep track of all the shots in a sequence, which is especially useful for TV and film work, where there are a lot of moving parts. Want to see this in action?
